We Must Have A Vision!

The theme for Greater Morning Star for the last couple of years has been "The Vision Is Coming to Pass," taken from Habakkuk 2:3. It is from this vantage point that I am thinking about the dangers of not having a vision. For without the vision, we don't know what God has purposed for us. Even though this is our church or corporate theme, I have been encouraging you, dear children, to seek the Lord because He has a customized plan for each of you. As Solomon has so aptly stated: "Where there is no vision, the people perish" (Proverbs 29:18). Thus, We Must Have A Vision!

That statement is not deep. It is simple and makes a lot of sense. If we don't know where we are going, we are going to run amuck and be headed for destruction. I know that we live in perilous times, complex times. But John, the Revelator, saw these times clearly. In the Apocalypse, he wrote what he saw and heard. It did not take a genius to do that. Most any of us could write what we see or hear. But the hard part is are we going to put ourselves in a position to see and hear. We must make the time to seek the face of God. John says we are in an age where we are not aware that we are miserable, poor, wretched, naked, and blind. What a state! For the most part then, he is saying that we are not trying to get better, get clothed, pick ourselves up, or see, because we think all of these areas are already covered. My dear children, is not this a type of blindness? Is not this perception a sure journey toward destruction?

Isaiah came with good news that God has delivered us from the prison of darkness (42:7). He declared (42:18), "Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see. However, too many in this church age are stuck in verse 20: "Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not." Also, Matthew 15:14 says that if the blind leads the blind, they will all in up in the ditch together.

Nevertheless Saints, let us praise the mighty and powerful name of Jesus! That WILL NOT be our story. It does not have to be your story. I've been asking the Lord to lead and guide me. I've been asking the Lord to let me see what His will is for me personally, and for this church. Also, I continue to admonish you to do the same for your individual lives. Solomon, that great man of wisdom, instructs us that in all our getting we should get an understanding (Proverbs 4:8). Yes, and we should also seek wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, and full of mercy and good fruits (James 3:17). This wisdom is from above and it is seeing things God's way. There are also scriptures teaching of the richness of wisdom. Paul preaches in Romans 11:33, "Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!" And then, James let's us know that if we need it, we can ask God for wisdom; and He will give it to us liberally.

That's what God will give us, Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding, as we receive what the Lord has to say to us from His chosen vessels. We don't want you to miss one thing God has in store for you. So come to Greater Morning Star to receive God's will with your ears hearkened unto the Word of God. Come with an attitude of expectation. Come ready to praise and give God thanks, in advance, for what He will do for us, for what He will say to us. REMEMBER, it's His Vision for us that Will Come to Pass, So let's PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM!!!
